ORIGINS: Zones+CompassThe Zones+Compass model is a tool and framework that I use a lot in my work. I find it helpful when applied to emotional readiness for learning/unlearning, to reacting to injustice, to holding others accountable, to communicating with loved ones... The list is endless. It applies to individuals, families, classes, schools, groups, organizations, generations, nation states... The list is endless.
It is a combination of two models: 1. The Learning Zone model by Thomas Senninger (2000), and 2. The Compass of Shame model by Donald Nathanson (1992). I am so grateful to have learned about both these models from attending a Jam hosted by YES!, an organization that aims to connect, inspire & collaborate with change-makers worldwide to build thriving, just & balanced ways of life. |
